F.A.Q.

How do you write?
    Well, I hope.

No, how many hours each day?
I usually go by word count rather than hours. I would fiddle around too much if I depended on hours.

OK, how many words?
    Between 800 and 1,000.

Do you ever run out of good ideas?
    Ideas? No. Good ones? Well...

Do you ever get writer's block?
No, because if something isn't working on a particular day I just switch to something else. From a book to a column, for example.

What's your favorite book of all the books you've written?

The one I'm working on now.

What's your least favorite?
The one I'm  working on now.

Which do you like writing more, fiction or non-fiction?
I like both very much. And writing for children and adults. And writing serious stuff and funny stuff. (And especially serious stuff in a funny way.)

What are your best-selling books?
"The Joy of Marriage" and "How to Survive Your 40th Birthday."

Did you write the poem "Mrs. Stein"?
    Yes. That's mine.

Where did you get your sense of humor?
My dear, sweet father was a funny, funny guy.

Were you the class clown?
What are you implying? No. In fact, in sixth grade I received the Good Conduct Award. (And if I have visited your school, you know that is a big, big deal!)

I want to be a writer. What should I do?
Write, write, write. Read, read, read.
Finish your article, book, poem, essay and send it out.
Send it out, send it out, send it out.
In the long run, persistence covers a multitude of writing weaknesses. Trust me.

Where can I buy your books?
Some are in bookstores. Any bookstore can order them. Or you can contact the publisher. Or use an on-line bookseller. To see a list of my books, go to Books.
